We put together this list of frequently asked questions.
Maybe. Our fire sprinklers have a 3/4 inch or 1 inch water supply inlet that use a 3/4" garden hose to run them. Normal hardware store sprinklers are only 1/2" and made of plastic. Our fire sprinklers flow 3 times the water than theirs and will spray water 3-4 times farther. You can easily hook up the roof / yard sprinklers to a normal 3/4" garden hose, or you can hook them up to your home's water supply. (Keep in mind that during a fire you may not have much water pressure due to the fire department's use and also any burned houses water supply being wide open now) City water is normally about 40 psi, our MP pumps run 130+ psi.
Something to think about before a fire.
No. Some fires are too quick and violent for even fire departments to stop. But our systems will give you the tools to help slow or stop fire if used properly. When they tell you it's time to leave, the MP pump can be set up with our custom optional fire sprinklers (up to 12) that you run around your property and on the roof. Then start the Honda powered Code3 water pump when you are ready, and then you leave. Your own water storage can have thousands of gallons (water tank, river, lake, pond or swimming pool can have 30,000+ gallons and will have hours of water in it to wet your home and yard. A wet house doesn't normally burn.
These large 3/4" Hurricane Side Mount Fire Sprinklers are the same sprinklers that we use on our Hurricane 110. They spray a 110 foot circle when hooked to one of our high pressure MP pumps. They can be screwed to any material and allow for you to protect a large area from wildfire. They can also be used on homes, under decks, gable ends on house roofs, etc. They are also used as a fence line property protector. They have the ability to protect 1000's of feet of fence line quickly and easily.
No. The normal hardware store yard sprinklers will not survive the high pressure of our MP pumps. Besides they are only 1/2" water feed. Our fire sprinklers are 3/4 and 1 inch water feed. That means that they will throw the water twice the distance over the cheap sprinklers, 150 feet with our largest roof sprinkler.
This is where you easily hook up the roof / yard sprinklers ( up to 12) by using 3/4" hoses, or you can hook up our sprinklers to your home's water supply. (Keep in mind that during a fire you may not have as much water pressure due to the fire department's use and also any burned houses water supply being wide open now) City water is normally about 40 psi, our MP pumps run 130+ psi.
Yes we offer all of our MP pumps systems with an electric starter option. The Honda engine will also have the pull starter in case of a dead battery.
Many people do not view the plants growing on their property as a threat. But in terms of wildfire, what is growing adjacent to their homes can have considerable influence upon the ability of their house to survive a wildfire. All vegetation, including naturally occurring native plants and ornamental plants in the residential landscape, is potential wildfire fuel.
Yes we do have a propane conversion kit to run your MP pump on propane. This allows for many more hours of run time. The gasoline tanks on Honda motors will run for about 3 hours.
We build these 2 inch square tubing hand built extreme duty roof sprinklers. They are very large (22 inches long) and fully adjustable for most roof types. Very heavy (24 pounds each) and designed to never accidentally move on your roof with 140 psi of water force from our MP pumps and also to not move due to wind / fire storm. They can be connected together in a line ( each sprinkler has an in & out hose connection fitting) to connect to the stainless steel manifold available on all of our MP pump systems. They will cover up to 150 feet radius. Usually 4 to 6 will cover most roof tops. Sold Individually.
It only takes about 3 minutes to get water flowing from a Code3 Water MP pump. Drop the suction hose into your pool , prime the pump and start the Honda engine. 2-3 minutes!
In California, we know all too well that wildfires can occur at any time. There is no longer a “wildfire season”, and residents must prepare now and stay prepared throughout the year. Some of the worst fires have occurred in November and December.
