How much fire hose you will want is based on the size / shape of your house and yard that you want to protect. Most homes would require at least 350 feet of fire to get all the way around with 2 attack fire hose lines (one going down each side of your house half way around) with nozzles on both hoses. This way you only have to move the fire hose a small way when the fire changes direction due to the wind or conditions. You also want to have a fire nozzle on each hose going down the side of the house (to allow you to stop the water flow without having to stop the pump and disconnect the fire hoses)  See our examples on this page.  We use high quality locally made fire department fire hose that costs $3.50 to $4.50 per foot. It has the optional 2nd attack line kit, 3 fire nozzles and one 1.5" fire hose wye. The fire hoses can be easily moved to cover all sides and also cover the side of your neighbors house (if it catches fire yours may too)
